The process of gas-assisted injection molding is to inject plastic melt into the mold cavity and then inject compressed gas into the plastic melt. The role of the auxiliary gas, to promote the plastic melt filling the various parts of the mold cavity, so that the plastic parts finally form a hollow section and maintain a complete shape. Compared with ordinary injection molding, this process has one more gas injection phase, and the pressure of the gas is used instead of the injection pressure of the plastic melt before the product is demolded. In the molded article, a hollow portion formed of gas is referred to as an air passage.
